Women’s Health Partnerships
Bupa Health Centre
The Bupa Health Centre Sheffield is based at our Sandygate clinic as it has been for many years. This established partnership allows patients the unique access to private healthcare with or without Bupa membership. In addition to general Health Assessments, the Bupa team also offer Women’s Health Services including:
Female Health Check
The Female Health assessment gives you the opportunity to talk through female health concerns. It’s designed for women over 25 and is focused on breast and gynaecological health. It includes a breast examination, Cervical Screening Test, urine tests and up to 30 minutes with a doctor. You’ll receive a personalised report following the assessment and access to the Any Time Health Line for 1 year so you can talk to a Bupa nurse 24/7.
Menopause Plan
The Menopause Plan provides personalised support from a specially trained Bupa GP. It includes two consultations with a GP and an individual action plan. If you need referring to a specialist, tests or prescriptions, we can arrange that too. For twelve months, you can also access 24/7 telephone support from Bupa menopause nurses. Bupa Clinics are also donating 5% from every Menopause Plan sold to a Women’s Health Charity to help fund vital research into women’s health.
Menopause Care
Menopause Care, founded by menopause specialist Dr Naomi Potter, gives women access to expert advice and treatments from British Menopause Society accredited doctors.
There are a limited number of NHS menopause clinics in the UK, many of which have a waiting list of months or even years. With a third of menopausal women saying they suffer from anxiety, and half saying they feel depressed, as well as many other debilitating symptoms, it is important for women to have access to the right treatment and guidance from an expert in the field, Menopause Care at our Sheffield Sandygate clinic provides the local population with exactly that and offers direct referral into our Women’s Health Physiotherapy service
Sheffield Private Pregnancy Care (SPPC)
A successful pregnancy begins with a healthy mother who is given sound advice based on the best evidence available, has regular antenatal care through the pregnancy and culminates in timely delivery of a healthy infant. Pregnancy is a time of happiness for most, but for some, it can be a source of great anxiety, especially if there have been problems with previous pregnancies, or concerns exist currently.
Led by Mr Roobin Jokhi and Professor Dilly Anumba, SPPC provide flexible packages of antenatal care for women who wish to have the reassurance of seeing highly trained specialists providing a wide range of services from the pre-conceptual period through to labour and delivery.
