Acupuncture & Dry Needling
Acupuncture is available as a treatment for pain relief either on its own or as an adjunct to physiotherapy treatment. It can help treat a wide range of conditions, including low back pain, arthritic pain and tennis elbow. It can be very effective for both acute and chronic conditions due to its effect of stimulating endogenous opioids (the natural pain killers) and other neurotransmitters such as serotonin (the "happy hormone") produced within the body. Many people report a reduction in pain, improved sleeping pattern and general well-being after treatment.
Acupuncture for Migraine / Headaches
We can offer treatment of migraines or headaches with one of our specially trained physiotherapists. We perform an assessment of your symptoms before prescribing and delivering a course of acupuncture treatment sessions specifically to help you relieve the pain. Ideal for tension type headaches, Trigeminal neuralgia, cluster headaches, migraines, trigger point related headaches and facial pain. Our specialists can provide Acupuncture that can reduce the frequency, severity and duration of headaches, with fewer potential adverse effects from treatment compared to prescribed and over-the-counter medications such as paracetamol and ibuprofen.
