FAQ's
Please review common questions we are asked by prospective patients.
Are the practitioner's all fully qualified?
All Physiotherapist's at the White House clinic are fully qualified and certified with the Health Professions Council.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
You do not necessarily need to see your doctor prior to physiotherapy, unless your insurance company stipulates this. If you are paying for treatment independently you are fine to see a physiotherapist first. We may contact your GP or ask you to visit them if we feel this is necessary.
Are you registered with the major health insurance providers?
Yes, we are registered with the major providers, including Bupa, AXA PPP and Westfield.
What other services do you offer?
We also have sports massage, Pilates, acupuncture and podiatry available at the clinic.
How much does each treatment cost?
The initial assessment is £50 for a 45 minute assessment.
Subsequent follow up treatments are £42 for 30 minute sessions.
What do I wear to the sessions?
It is recommended that you wear loose fitting clothing. Shorts are normally required for lower limb problems. Vest tops are useful for upper limb problems. Your physiotherapist will require you to partially undress to assess and treat your problem appropriately. We can provide shorts if necessary.
Can a friend/relative accompany me?
Of course you are welcome to have a friend or family member in the treatment room if this makes you more comfortable. Children and babies can come into the room also, although you may find it easier for someone else to look after them, so there are no distractions during your session!
What should I expect from my first visit?
On the initial visit your physiotherapist will need to perform a thorough assessment. This begins with a talk about the problem and your general health. You will then have a physical assessment which will look into your movements and identify the affected tissues.
This helps your physiotherapist make an accurate diagnosis of what the problem is. This will be explained to you at this stage. There is usually time to start the treatment on the first visit.
Do you do home visits?
Yes, we are able to arrange a physiotherapist to visit you at home if this is necessary. We cover a wide geographical area, including west Sheffield, Dronfield, Hope Valley & Doncaster. Please call to request a quotation.
