Shelby qualified from the University of Huddersfield with a 1st Class Honours (BSc) degree in Physiotherapy in 2019.
Shelby has always had a love of all sports and fitness and enjoyed competing competitively as a teenager in cheerleading and trampolining.
Prior to her degree and after leaving school, she began working in the fitness industry (in 2013) as a fitness instructor and group class instructor. She has experience of leading HIIT/military circuit classes of up to 65 people (and still teaches HIIT). She went on to gain her qualifications as a personal trainer and still uses some of these principles in her treatment approach as a physiotherapist.
Since qualifying, Shelby started her career in the NHS covering a mixture of rotations, including ICU over winter during height of the COVID-19 pandemic. She always had a love for MSK physio however and commenced some work in the private sector at this same time before joining the White House Clinic in 2022 to focus on a career in MSK physiotherapy. She really enjoys the importance of rehab having suffered some nasty injuries herself.
Currently alongside her MSK physiotherapy role, Shelby also works as a First Contact Practitioner (FCP physiotherapist) in General Practice for the White House Clinic. This role relies heavily on her ability to make rapid and accurate diagnosis, implementing early and appropriate intervention, and recognising the need for onward referral if and where necessary to ensure patients receive the best treatment available as soon as possible.
Outside of work, Shelby enjoys spending time outdoors walking her dog and going to the gym.
